Date: Saturday 25 October Location: NBC Alexandria, 8/190 Bourke Rd, Alexandria PLUS Welcome Drinks will be held on Friday 24 October, 6:30pm at The Rose of Australia, Erskineville. After party venue details are still to be finalised. This year’s edition is extra special as we introduce a B and C Grade Women’s Division alongside the Open Gender categories (A, B, C)! This exciting expansion comes after valuable feedback from our female players and Sydney’s commitment to building a strong women’s contingent for 2025. Now is the time to start rallying your teammates and planning your future partnerships (the badminton type of course). Whether you're a seasoned player or competing for the first time, this is your chance to compete, connect, and celebrate the incredible spirit of our LGBTIQ+ badminton community. Details including registration info, costs, inclusions and pre/post tournament events are still in the works. We haven't had much luck in acquiring any decent accommodation deals, so at this point it's most likely players will need to seek their own. However, we'll definitely keep you posted. We're hoping that by late April we can open up registration and give everyone the complete run down. Unfortunately a recent Open Day hindered our organising efforts, but rest assured we're on it now. In the meantime, lock in the date, find your competition partner, book your flights (if you'd like), spread the word, and get ready for an unforgettable tournament! Melbourne Smashers invites you to Masterbaker 2025 - a baking competition between our fellow LGBTQIA+ sports clubs to raise important funds for the amazing services provided by Thorne Harbour Health. Melbourne Smashers are defending the title of Masterbaker from the last Northside Bizarre event in 2019! Register your interest to be part of our Smashers baking team, it's FREE! We'll contact you directly with more details. Alongside the Masterbaker 2025 event, the Northside Bizarre is hosting other fun activities such as the VicBears BearBQ, Dykes on Bikes, and much more! Important Information: 1. Arrival Time Please arrive from 11:00 am to allow enough time for your team to set up in the MasterBaker area at the Collingwood Masonic Hall (149 Gipps St, Abbotsford VIC 3067). Entry is via the car park (walking access only). 2. Bump In & Unloading There is no car access directly to the venue. Henry Street (via Gipps Street) will be closed. We recommend accessing Henry Street via Langridge Street and unloading near 48 Henry Street, where public parking (non-residential) is available. Volunteers will be on hand with trolleys to assist if needed. 3. Competition Running Order 12:00pm – Attendees arrive. Have your taster trays ready and start engaging the crowd to drive sales and votes. 1:00pm – Judging round begins. Make sure your best confectionery is set aside for the judges. 3:30pm – Crowd votes tallied and donations counted. 4:00pm – Winner announced! 4. Sales We have QR codes set up via Square for donations at your station. Each sweet treat is priced at $2.50 (donation). Think strategically about portion sizes and presentation to maximise your fundraising total. 5. Health & Safety To align with our FoodTrader permit requirements and the Food Act 1984 (Vic): Wash hands before and during food prep, and keep benches, tools, and utensils clean (when making at home). *All preparation of confectionery is done before the event at home  Keep ingredients covered and stored properly to avoid contamination. Use clean equipment for icing and decorations. Transport baked goods in sealed containers. Clearly label items containing common allergens (nuts, dairy, eggs, gluten). We will have spare labels available on the day. Consider offering some dietary-friendly options to boost sales. Further safety for cream/custard/soft cheese/mousse items: These must be made within 48 hours of the event (no earlier than Thursday 9 October). Keep refrigerated until the event. Once at room temperature on the day, items must be consumed within 4 hours. A cooler will be available on site if you need temporary storage. 5. Social Media To promote the Masterbaker competition and your teams, do feel free to post photos/videos on Instagram of you preparing your confectionery, tagging in Thorne Harbour Health and the Laird.
